Staton Capital invests in commercial and retail real estate.

As a Co-Founder of Duke Realty, a leader in commercial real estate development, in 1993 we led the company to one of the largest IPO’s becoming a super-regional publicly traded REIT (NYSE: DRE). By year end 2000, Duke Realty’s property portfolio exceeded 100 million square feet. Today, Duke Realty continues to be one of the largest publicly traded real estate owners, managers, and developers of industrial, medical, and office properties in the United States.

As Chairman of Storage Trust Realty (NYSE: SEA), a real estate investment trust that owned and operated over 180 public self-storage facilities in 16 states, we led the merger with Public Storage (NYSE: PSA) in 1999. Staton served on the Board of Directors of PSA from 1999 through 2021. PSA is the world’s largest owner and operator of self-storage facilities, serving over one million customers, is a member of the S&P 500, and The Forbes Global 2000.

Staton also served on the Board of Directors for Shurgard Self Storage SA, the largest European-Based self storage company, from 2018 through 2023. SHUR is listed on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
